Refund Policy
Last updated August 22, 2026 · POVV Kacper Gardocki — sole proprietorship (JDG), Poland · NIP 9151840843
This policy explains when money comes back. It sits alongside the Terms of Service, which govern everything else.
1. What you are buying
POVV sells access to an automated audit engine. Running an audit consumes real, non-recoverable compute — third-party language-model inference that we are billed for at the moment it runs. That fact shapes this entire policy: we can refund what has not been spent, and we cannot recover what has.
Prices are shown exclusive of tax; applicable VAT or sales tax is added at checkout by Stripe Tax and shown on your invoice. Where we refund a charge, we refund the tax collected on it with the charge.
There are three ways to pay us, and they behave differently:
- Subscriptions (PRO, AGENCY) — a recurring monthly charge that includes a monthly credit grant.
- Credit top-ups — a one-time purchase of credits that are consumed as audits run.
- Single verdict unlock — a one-time purchase that unlocks the full report for one already-completed audit.
2. Your right of withdrawal, and what happens if you use it
If you are a consumer in the EU, you normally have 14 days to withdraw from a distance contract without giving a reason. Digital services are an exception when you ask us to begin immediately: at checkout you consent to immediate performance and acknowledge that you lose the right of withdrawal once the service has been fully performed, and that if performance has begun but is incomplete you may still withdraw and pay only for what was already delivered.
In plain terms, and this is the operative rule we apply: we refund what you have not consumed. Audits you have already run are performance we delivered and paid a supplier for. Credits still sitting in your balance are not.
To withdraw, email [email protected] within 14 days of purchase. No form and no reason are required.
3. When we refund
- Unused top-up credits, within 14 days of purchase. Refunded pro-rata to the portion still unspent when you ask. Credits included with a subscription are part of that month’s service and are not separately refundable.
- A subscription you never used. If no audit ran on the plan in the billing period, we refund that period in full within 14 days of the charge.
- We failed to deliver. If an audit was charged but produced no sealed verdict because of a fault on our side, we refund it — or restore the credits, your choice. You do not have to argue about whose fault it was; if the seal is missing, the charge goes back.
- Duplicate or mistaken charges. Refunded in full whenever you notice, without a deadline.
- A verdict unlock that did not unlock. If payment succeeded but the report stayed locked and we cannot fix it, refunded in full.
4. When we do not refund
We say this plainly rather than burying it, because a refund policy that pretends compute is free is a policy nobody can honour:
- Audits you already ran. The model inference was purchased and consumed. This is the single largest category and it is not negotiable.
- Disagreeing with the verdict. POVV returns an automated opinion bounded by the evidence it could read. A low score, a finding you consider wrong, or a result you did not expect is the product working, not a defect. Contest the finding instead — every sealed verdict carries a contest path, and a successful contest corrects the record.
- Coverage you found disappointing. Every verdict discloses what entered evidence before you pay to unlock it. Read the manifest first.
- Past billing periods on a subscription. See section 5.
- Accounts terminated for abuse — for example attempting to bypass rate limits, spend caps, or the free-tier ceiling. See the acceptable-use section of the Terms.
5. Cancelling a subscription is not the same as a refund
You can cancel at any time, yourself, from the billing page — no email and no conversation required. Cancellation stops the next charge and you keep access until the end of the period you already paid for.
We do not pro-rate the current period. If you cancel on day 20 of a month you have paid for, you keep the remaining days rather than receiving two-thirds back. There is no convenience refund for a period you decided not to use. Where section 3 applies — you never used the plan at all, or we failed to deliver — a refund is still available on request, and where your statutory rights say otherwise they prevail.
Credits already in your balance survive cancellation and stay usable until they expire. Unused credits expire 90 days after your most recent payment. Any top-up or subscription renewal resets that deadline for every credit still in your balance; if you have never paid, each credit expires 90 days after it was credited. They carry no cash value and are never redeemable for cash — cancelling does not convert them into a refund.
6. How to ask
Email [email protected] from the address on the account, and include the approximate date and amount. If you have one, the verdict hash or invoice number makes it faster; if you do not, we will find it.
We acknowledge refund requests within 7 business days and settle approved refunds within 14 days, to the original payment method through Stripe. Your bank may take a few days more to show it.
7. If we cannot agree
Tell us first — most disputes are a misread invoice. If that fails, consumers in the EU may use the Online Dispute Resolution platform, and consumers in Poland may seek assistance from municipal or district consumer ombudsmen (the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (UODO), Warsaw, Poland handles data-protection matters, which is a different route). Nothing in this policy limits those options.
8. Changes
We may update this policy. The version in force is the one published when you paid, and material changes will be announced before they take effect. Changes never apply retroactively to a purchase you already made.
